Terms of service

 Terms of Service

  Last updated: March 2026

These terms govern your use of the SS Bigwin website and your purchase of cruise tickets, charters, and related services
operated by the Lake of Bays Marine Museum & Navigation Society ("we," "us," "the Society"), a registered Canadian charity,
located at 1090 Main Street, Dorset, Ontario.

  Booking & Tickets

All cruise tickets are purchased through our online store and are subject to availability. Each sailing is limited to 30
guests. Tickets are non-transferable but may be rescheduled subject to our cancellation policy below.

By purchasing a ticket, you agree to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Late arrivals may not
be accommodated and are not eligible for a refund.

  Pricing

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable HST. Pricing may vary by cruise type, age
category, and season. Current pricing is displayed at the time of purchase.

  On-Board Conduct

Guests are expected to follow all crew instructions and safety procedures at all times. The SS Bigwin is a Transport Canada
certified passenger vessel equipped with full safety equipment.

Guests may bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is not permitted on board. Smoking is not permitted
  on board.

For the comfort and safety of all guests, pets are not permitted. Service animals are welcome with advance notice.

Flat-soled shoes are recommended for safety on deck. We recommend dressing in layers, as it is cooler on the water.

  Children

Children of all ages are welcome aboard. Children ages 5–12 receive a reduced fare. Children under 5 require a ticket at a
reduced rate. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

  Accessibility

Please contact us in advance at 1-844-424-4946 to discuss accessibility needs. The main deck is wheelchair accessible. We
will do our best to ensure a comfortable experience for all guests.

  Captain's Authority

The captain has sole authority over all sailing decisions, including departure, route, and early return. Decisions made by
the captain for reasons of safety or weather are final and not subject to dispute.

  Assumption of Risk

Cruising on open water involves inherent risks. By boarding the SS Bigwin, you acknowledge and accept these risks. The
Society, its officers, crew, and volunteers are not liable for injury, loss, or damage to personal property except where
  caused by gross negligence.

  Photography & Media

We may take photographs or video during cruises for promotional purposes. By boarding, you consent to the use of your
likeness in our marketing materials. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform the crew before departure.

  Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, design, and branding — is the property of the Lake of Bays Marine
Museum & Navigation Society and may not be reproduced without written permission.

  Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Society's total liability for any claim arising from your cruise or use of this
website is limited to the amount you paid for your ticket.

  Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

  Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page.
